Cool Recycled Summer Bowls
April 5, 2009 · Leave a Comment

These summery new bowls are made out of recycled lampshades and yarn from the Mirasol Collection in Peru. The bowls are handmade, original, recycled, and also support a great humanitarian cause. They are ideal for serving fruit, cakes or sweets, or to just keep your belongings safe in one place.

Bird Island
February 1, 2009 · Leave a Comment
Bird Island is a stunning urban renewal project that is currently being developed in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Designed by Graft Lab architects for the YTL Green Home Competition, the project comprises a zero energy home made of sustainably-sourced silicone glass fabric. Its lightness and flexibility will allow it to sway organically with the breeze just like a treetop, and slots in the fabric will give visitors a unique peek into the sky as the wind ebbs and flows.

Recycled & Eco Product Designs
August 11, 2008 · Leave a Comment

I’m really impressed with these designs by product designer Julian Lwin. He has used recycled items to create these great low-energy lights, which would look amazing in a low-lit eco bar or restaurant. Also, this eye-catching biodegradable bench which sprouts grass as it then becomes a part of the ground.

Luminair Lighting
May 15, 2008 · Leave a Comment

Talking of all things Brighton, take a look at Luminair.
Where you’ll find a vast array of recycled, eco and led lighting all created by a small independant Brighton-based team. All of their lighting is really original, reasonably priced and created with great love and care. The attention to detail is also worth noting – being incredibly well-made with a focus on excellent design. I really would like a recycled plastic lampshade to grace my new home!

Hackney Shelves by Ryan Frank
April 30, 2008 · Leave a Comment
Check out these cool shelving units by Ryan Frank. Plain boards are left around town, which graffiti artists then go and wreak havoc on. The boards are then left to ‘mature’ and voila! One very cool and original display unit.
